Quantum-Si Scientist II, Reagent Development in Branford, Connecticut

The sequencing reagent development team is responsible for the transfer and optimization of new sequencing reagents and user workflows from lab bench to kitted material. This includes design development, design verification, stability studies, QC assay design and specification setting of all sequencing reagents and components. We translate ideas into products to drive the cutting edge of next generation protein sequencing.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Formulate test reagents and buffers

  • Execute experiments, analyze data and communicate results, including generating formal reports as required.

  • Perform routine sequencing for validation and verification events.

  • Work alongside internal users to refine customer sequencing experience.

  • Communicate and work cross-functionally with engineers, chemists, biologists

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of related, industry experience.

  • Excellent molecular biology lab skills with high attention to experimental details.

  • Hands-on experience with biotechnology devices and working in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Hands-on experience making chemical reagents, buffers and solutions, including all necessary concentration calculations and scaling.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow SOPs, think critically about data to troubleshoot and solve problems with the team.

  • Should have good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate with a team and execute tasks independently.

  • Ability to adhere to time constraints and work on prioritized work accordingly.

  • Ability to be dynamic flexible to respond to new results and challenges.

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t):

  • Hands-on experience in working with proteins

  • Hands-on experience in sequencing (DNA/RNA/protein)

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $80,000- $90,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
