Quantum-Si Application Support Scientist in San Diego, Connecticut
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Support Scientist to join our dynamic commercial team. As an Application Support Scientist, you will play a crucial role in technically supporting the commercial organization, and contributing to the development of new applications for our core protein sequencing technology. You will work closely with a team of scientists and commercial individuals to support and advance our objectives in a fast-paced environment. As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
Prepare samples and datasets to be used in commercial product demonstrations and trainings.
Answer technical product and application inquiries from customers and the commercial team.
Triage and escalate advanced questions and product issues through the proper internal channels for troubleshooting.
Collaborate with the research team to conduct experiments developing single-molecule-based applications for our core protein sequencing technology.
Independently perform experiments and maintain high quality records of experimental procedures and data.
Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
Prepare reports and presentations to effectively communicate results internally and externally.
Generate application notes and other customer-facing collateral with application datasets for sales and marketing purposes.
Support and coordinate activities with senior scientists and commercial leadership as part of a collaborative, team-driven and goal-oriented environment.
Support internal trainings of new hires by providing demonstrations of the protein sequencing workflow, instrument, and software.
Collaborate with operations to support shipping of reagents needed for demos and trainings.
Collaborate with marketing to support field marketing needs (e.g. demo instruments, literature, tradeshow giveaways, etc.)
Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
BA, BS, or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Solid understanding of scientific principles and proficiency in performing experimental techniques.
Familiarity with the operation of complex lab instrumentation.
Highly organized, detail-oriented individual, able to perform experiments/protocols with limited guidance.
High level of curiosity and desire to learn more about the fundamentals of biochemistry and single-molecule work.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment to achieve company goals and milestones.
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking-abilities.
Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):
- At least one year of customer service or commercial sales work (ideally at a life science company. Other customer service positions as a desk receptionist, retail sales associate, etc. are also highly desirable).

This position is on-site (San Diego preferred or Branford)
Travel up to 20%
The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $70,000 - $85,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
